Code Section 709

A period of service performed under section 709 of title 32 united states code or under a prior corresponding provision of law before january 1 1969 which would not otherwise be creditable under subchapter iii of chapter 83 of title 5 united states code because of the antepenultimate sentence of section 8332 b of such title shall be considered creditable service under such subchapter notwithstanding such sentence in the case of an individual described in subsection b.
